Yesterday I went to the hospital to meet the newest little arrival to the  family, Macon William.

Baby Macon

Going into the same hospital where my precious little Henry was born brought back so many memories.

Memories that were good, and also some bad…

Checking in that morning so early, scared out of my mind of everything the day would hold.  Seeing friends and family come support me, hardly being able to contain the excitement of a new little bundle of joy.

Waiting and waiting, was a majority of the day, but when the time finally arrived, I wasn’t quite ready.

I wasn’t ready for everything that having a little boy entailed… or so I thought to myself.

I wasn’t ready for the sleepless nights and having to care for another human being. How could I possibly do this? I’m just not ready!

But ready or not, you sure did come. And with your arrival, you have brought me the best days and nights that I could ever imagine.

My precious angel, my friend, my adorable child… my little boy.

Your joy can bring a smile to my face on the most horrible of days. Your laughter can make my heart melt. Your eyes can burn a hole through my soul to where I can feel nothing but love.

It brings tears of happiness to my eyes just thinking of you right now, my son.

I never knew that someone could love me with the completeness that you do. Just because I am your mother. Nothing to prove to you, and yet I have your unexplained love.

Thank you for being such a wonderful child. I am so blessed to have you. SO blessed.

Needless to say, I was indeed ready for you. I was needing you. You have given me completeness. You give me the want to be a better person. The want to be the best possible example I can be for you. To give you a life you deserve.

To show you God in everything I say and do, because HE is the one that has given you to me. I prayed that you would be a loving, tenderhearted child, and that is exactly what He has given me.

I know I will mess up and I know I will fail you, but I also want to show you that imperfectness is also a part of life. I will still be there for you no matter what.

But ALWAYS know, God will never fail you. He always has your best interests in mind and He is looking out for you. You are even more precious in His eyes than in mine.

I am so thankful to have you.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. “John 3:17

Thank You God

Sent straight from heaven up above
Came an angel for me to love
To hold and rock and kiss good night
To wrap my arms around real tight

To cuddle & nurture and watch him play
To kiss his boo-boo’s all away
To keep him safe and warm & count all his toes
To hold the tissue for him when he blows his little nose

To laugh at his jokes, to clap as he sings
To tell him all the joy in my life that he brings
To clean up his play dough, to pull his legos apart
To pin up his drawings and tell him it’s art

To watch his first day of school on the bus all alone
To fight back the tears as I make my way back home
To applaud real loud when he’s in his first play
To help him with his homework at the end of his day

To adore & cherish and watch him grow
To guide and teach him all that I know
To see him through good times & help him through bad
To share in his happiness and cry when he’s sad

To hold him close and be by his side
To watch him through life as my heart fills with pride
To help him with decisions, the best that I can
To know that someday he’ll be a fine young man

I am so happy for you, Katie.

Always remember, the love of a mother is like no other… except that of your FATHER.
